Storage facilities are handy to make use of. They can be used for temporary storage, long term storage, or even running a business out of. Self storage sites are handy, and fairly cheap to use, even for the short term.

When we moved, one of the things we had to do was to empty out some of our 'stuff' from our house, to make it look larger, and allow the potential buyers to picture their 'stuff' in the rooms. We had to get two 10×12 storage buildings to store our belongings in. Once we sold our old home and bought our new home, we moved that stuff into it.

Good thing we went from 1400 sq ft to just under 3000 sq ft!
